Why Schedule A Rowing Lesson?

Whether you are new to rowing a drift boat or raft or want to learn how to traverse more difficult waters, our guides are here to teach you how how to safely navigate. We will cover how to launch and trailer your boat, river safety, and river hazards. We will also go over the distance from the bank, rowing speed, obstacle navigation, eddies, crab stroking, reading the river, and more.

Rivers are dangerous and can be unforgiving, so having the knowledge of what to do in any situation before it happens can be the difference in a safe outcome. We put safety first and want to give you the tools so that you can enjoy your day, on the water.

Please provide your own drift boat or raft, and PDFs for all persons on the boat. If you do not have a drift boat or raft, or do not have access to one, please let us know.

This lesson does not include fishing and no fishing gear will be allowed on the boat.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your selected river but please note that the final decision for river selection will be made by Fly Gyde based on Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife regulations, rower's skill level, river data & weather forecasts. We will discuss river options available and make the final decision with a collective effort between guest and guide.
